ROMAN MUSEUM

INTRODUCTION:

You have been asked to put together a display for the Windsor ROMAN museum.   You will use the web sites below, World Book on-line and books in the library to develop your museum display.

TASK:

YOU WILL WORK IN TEAMS OF 2 and Use the resources outlined above TO develop a ROMAN display for our museum.   You will need to pick 3 items to be included in the display.   You will present your display using Power point.   Your display will include:

  • the item
  • the TIME (OR AGE) OF THE ITEM
  • the material it was made of
  • how it was made
  • The Item’s use in ROMAN LIFE/culture.

YOU MAY INCLUDE A PERSON – IF YOU DO, INCLUDE

  • WHAT THEY DID
  • IMPACT ON ROMAN LIFE/CULTURE

YOUR FINAL PAGE WILL BE A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE RESOURCES YOU USED.  PROPER CITATION FORMAT WILL BE USED.   (REFER TO BIBLIOGRAPHY WORKSHEETS)

Evaluation

You will be evaluated both on the process (following directions, group cooperation and participation, and using resources) and the end-product (Power Point Presentation). You will be graded individually or as a group in 5 categories as described in the chart below.

Note: An "Outstanding" score (4) is the highest you can achieve in a category, and an "Unsatisfactory" score (1) is the lowest you can achieve in a category. An Overall Score of "4" translates into an "A" grade, an Overall Score of "3" translates into a "B" grade, an Overall Score of "2" translates into a "C" grade, and an Overall Score of "1" translates into a "D" grade. To receive an overall grade, students must participate in the Project to completion.
