Peer Mediation Training
Sixteen students from the 5th, 6th and 7th grade classes were trained as peer mediators in April. Six middle school staff also participated in the training. As a peer mediator, the students will help their peers find positive ways to solve their problems. These trainees have learned skills that will be useful for a lifetime.
The most typical conflicts between students at the middle school are:
“He said/she said” rumors, Friendships gone amiss, Threats, Name-calling and Inter-personal conflicts.
If you know any middle school students who could benefit from peer mediation, please contact either Mrs. Salo or Mrs. Lupo at 655-8248 or encourage the students to contact the middle school counselors during the school day.
Empower middle school students to deal positively with conflicts.
