Dear Parent/Guardian:

Although the year has just begun, the 8th grade class thoughts are already looking ahead to the end of the year class trip to Washington D.C. We will hold an informational meeting on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Auditorium to present preliminary details and allow time for parents to ask questions before making a commitment to this trip


The cost of the trip will be approximately $200-$220 per student.  This fee includes transportation, over night accommodations, entrance into Six Flags, meals (except for breakfast on the way down and dinner on the ride back), and trip t-shirts.  Students will be provided two fund raising opportunities through Home Interiors Fundraising (October 15-26) and MS PATS Gertrude Hawk candy sale (Spring).  In addition, students are able to earn money towards their trip by working at the Faculty vs. WBNG Basketball Game and the Student Dodge Ball Tournament.  Both dates for these events have yet to be determined.


A payment schedule will be set up with the initial installment of $50 due November 1st.  All fundraising efforts in conjunction with personal payments (make checks payable to MS PATS) will be tabulated for each individual.  Payments and funds raised should be done so with the understanding that this is a merit based trip.  Ultimately, behavior and academic standing will determine a student’s passage to Washington D.C.
